These case studies demonstrate some of the mental health improvement work being carried out across Scotland.

Are You Really Listening?

This project aims to tackle the stigma of mental ill health in black and minority ethnic communities. Participants were encouraged to share their experiences of stigma, and a selection of these stories were printed in booklet form by NHS Health Scotland.

Health and wellbeing in all that we do

'Health and wellbeing in all that we do' is training toolkit developed for school staff. It combines elements of 'Curriculum for Excellence' and 'Towards a Mentally Flourishing Scotland'.

The Glasgow-based charity Theatre NEMO promotes positive mental health through creativity and the arts. It specialises in work with psychiatric hospitals and prisons.

Play@home

Play@home is a resource for new parents, offering ideas to help infants learn through movement and play. The approach promotes the mental wellbeing of both parents and children.

Young Scot Extra

Young Scot Extra is a set of services for young people up to the age of 26. It aims to improve health, employability and financial inclusion, and mental wellbeing is an important part of the package.

With help from the Scottish Centre for Healthy Working Lives, this charity has revamped its workforce mental health policies.
