Children and Young People’s Mental Health Indicators: update and consultation event
(NHS Health Scotland: 1 March 2010)

The Towards a Mentally Flourishing Scotland (TAMFS): Policy and Action Plan sets out clearly the need to develop ‘a national picture of mental wellbeing and mental health problems among infants, children and young people in Scotland’ to assess progress in improving mental health and to monitor future trends.

NHS Health Scotland on behalf of the Scottish Government is working to establish a national set of mental health indicators for children and young people by spring 2011.

NHS Health Scotland held the event to

  • share progress of the children and young people’s mental health indicator project
  • to invite comment on the proposed draft framework for the children and young people’s mental health indicators, as part of a consultation process (March 2010).

The consultation feedback will contribute to the development of the Children and Young People’s Mental Health Indicators.
