Evaluation of ‘see me’ the National Scottish campaign against the stigma and discrimination associated with mental ill-health
The ‘see me’ campaign, launched in 2002, aims to challenge the stigma and discrimination associated with mental ill-health in Scotland. The campaign combines a national publicity programme with local and national anti-stigma action.
An independent evaluation of ‘see me’ was commissioned in August 2006 and will report in November 2007. The evaluation is being conducted by a consortium of researchers from the Scottish Development Centre for Mental Health; the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College London; and Rethink.
Aims of the evaluation
The main aims of the evaluationare to:
Co-ordinate a detailed account of the development and activities of the campaign.
Determine the extent to which ‘see me’ has met its own strategic objectives to date, and identify factors that have acted as facilitators and barriers.
On the basis of findings, make recommendations for the future development of anti-stigma work in Scotland.
