Self-help can be as simple as learning to get more sleep or to drink less coffee or can involve structured programmes of learning and training to change the way we think and behave and the way we lead our lives.

Recovery:
Recovery from long-term mental health problems is about much more than the mere absence of symptoms. It is not about being fixed or back to normal. It is about having the chance to live a satisfying and fulfilling life, as defined by the individual, with or without symptoms.

Positive Pete

In collaboration with Penumbra and a group of young people the National Programme has created a profile page on Bebo to raise awareness of positive mental health and wellbeing, and help to create a young people’s ‘mental health movement’.
