Supporting training and learning is an important part of improving Scotland’s mental health and wellbeing.
By learning and understanding more about mental health we can change our attitudes and behaviour and take positive action which could save lives.
There are a number of training courses open to practitioners and the general public that do more than teach new skills and techniques.
NHS Health Scotland has commissioned a mapping of training with regards to mental health and wellbeing in Scotland. Once these have been identified, a more comprehensive list of training packages across Scotland will be available.
The various training courses currently available for different elements of mental health and wellbeing can be separated into the following categories:
- Promoting mental wellbeing
- Preventing mental health problems
- Suicide prevention
