Mental Health Week

During Mental Health Week (8th – 14th October), WellScotland is asking you to think about your attitudes and behaviour towards mental health and what mental health and wellbeing means to you.

In support of Mental Health Week a special edition of Well? magazine has been published. View online here or to get your free copy of Well? email well@scotland.gsi.gov.uk.

Are you flourishing?

Positive mental wellbeing is essential for our overall health. A lack of mental wellbeing contributes to many of the major health challenges we face in Scotland and can also lead to a rise in mental health problems. People who have positive, flourishing mental health are more productive, suffer less chronic illness and feel good about themselves, their relationships and their place in the world.

Looking after our minds is just as important as looking after our bodies; but while everyone knows how to look after their physical health, many of us are still unaware of how to build a healthy mind.

Skills for Life

By simply increasing our knowledge and understanding about mental health and mental illness, we can empower ourselves to make changes to help improve and sustain our mental health and that of others.
